Hello! My name is Linda McCloskey. I am so excited to be the Executive Director of the Bardstown Historical Development Corporation. I am a retired school teacher. After retiring from teaching, I was Regional Manager for the IMPACT program in 3 counties.
I grew up on the family farm in Breckinridge County. My parents were equal opportunity employers. I was taught that “girls” can do everything boys can do. I was expected to help with setting and stripping tobacco, driving tractors and doing whatever was needed to feed and keep the farm animals happy and healthy. My dad taught me the value of hard work and that my word and a hand shake was all that was needed to close a deal.
I attended Western Kentucky University, in Bowling Green Kentucky, where I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree, Masters and Rank 1 in Administration. I am married to Bill McCloskey, we have a son and a daughter, and live here in Nelson County.
I want to invite and welcome everyone to visit the Oscar Getz Museum and the Bardstown Historical Museum. Bardstown is a very beautiful small town with warm southern hospitality. Come and sample our Bourbon and enjoy the many attractions that Bardstown has to offer.
